12 PM - Lunch with Informational Sessions at the Cedar Hedge Pavilion. Please note, lunch is not provided.

Informational Session featuring:

• Janet Mihuc, NNYA board co-president, with chapter updates

• Ken Adams, board member, offering insights on bird habitats at Point au Roche State Park

• Caley Doell, graduate student from SUNY Plattsburgh, discussing Eastern Whip-poorwill habitat use in a jack pine barren

No registration is needed, and beginners are always welcome! NNYA t-shirts and hats will be available for purchase.

Directions to Point au Roche State Park’s Entrances

The intersection of Route 9 and Point au Roche Road (Clinton County Route 22 East) is 5 miles north of Plattsburgh and 7 miles south of Chazy. From Exit 40 on the Northway, the intersection with Point au Roche Road is one half mile south on Route 9.

The Point au Roche State Park sign is 1.5 miles from the Route 9 intersection with Point au Roche Road. This entrance is used for the beach and boat ramp. Follow the sign to the beach. The noon meeting will be at the Cedar Hedge Pavilion, 0.5 miles from the Park’s entrance sign. There is a restroom at this pavilion.

For those who want to go birding prior to the noon meeting, meet at the Deep Bay parking lot at 9 AM. From the Point au Roche State Park entrance sign, continue on Point au Roche Road another half mile east tot he intersection with Camp Red Cloud Road (across from Point au Roche Lodge). Note the sign for Point au Roche Outdoor Interpretive Center (87 Camp Red Cloud Road). Turn right onto Camp Red Cloud Road. Deep Bay can be seen at the end of the road. There is a porta-john at the parking lot.
