Enjoy a morning of late winter birding with a walk along the lake! This walk will pass through several shrubby and forested habitats before reaching the tip of Long Point with its panoramic views of Lake Champlain. Expect to see a variety of winter and resident songbirds, waterbirds, and possibly more! The trail is approximately 2 miles round trip with gently-sloping grassy, rocky or dirt paths. Trail conditions may be snowy, muddy or icy depending on the weather.
Bring: Binoculars, snacks, water, and dress for the weather (it will be windy near the lake).

Location: Point au Roche State Park, Deep Bay parking lot. From the Point au Roche Park entrance sign, continue on the Point au Roche Road another half mile east to the intersection with Camp Red Cloud Road (across from Point au Roche lodge). Note the sign for Point au Roche Outdoor Interpretive Center (87 Camp Red Cloud Road). Turn right onto Camp Red Cloud Road and follow to the end. The road becomes unpaved halfway in.
